The Skills Test & a Practice Plan

The skills test has three parts - and the knowledge tests are pure practice.

• The skills test is three parts: the pre-trip inspection, basic vehicle control, and the on-road drive.
• Drill the knowledge tests here until you score 80%+ several times in a row; questions and choices reshuffle each attempt.
• Study the segment material, then take the matching practice test and review every missed question and its citation.
• For the pre-trip and on-road parts, practice with a qualified CDL holder in the actual vehicle.
