Endorsements & Restrictions

Endorsements add privileges; restrictions take them away.

• Endorsements: H (hazmat - needs a TSA background check), N (tank), T (doubles/triples), P (passenger), S (school bus); X combines H and N.
• The Hazmat endorsement requires passing a TSA security threat assessment (fingerprint background check).
• Restrictions: testing in a vehicle without air brakes gives an air-brake restriction (L); testing in an automatic can add an automatic-transmission restriction (E).
• Take the Air Brakes and Combination tests in the right vehicle so you can drive our Class A rigs without restrictions.
